I run a few Linux stations and a few windows stations, all number crunchers.

Out of curiosity, why is it that this particular project only runs on Linux and OSX? Im aware of there being no Windows version, but is there a computational reason for this? Restrictions on windows?

Hi,
[thanks for your question]
(a) It's a little bit serendipitous - it just kindof happened that way :)
(b) It's kindof cool to promote and encourage Linux (and Mac) use
(c) I don't have any Windows computers, and I'm reluctant to distribute code others might have compiled for me
(d) As a couple of users have remarked, it's quite fun to have a "track" on the "calendar" with odd requirements cf. Monaco!
(e) The project is still in alpha - until and unless we find another bloomin' (decent size) factor, we all might be wasting our time anyway

Would you like to create an Boinc application for Android devices?
If you were able to do this, I'm sure a few more users would join in.
