Are they found by a group of users or by a single user?

Thanks for your question.
They (or rather it, since to date we have only found the one 12-digit factor, but multiple times) are randomly spread between users (and hosts). If you do some crunching ( :) ) and look at your results you will see a shorter workunit returned, on average, roughly 1 in 60 times, which corresponds to the/a factor being found during the course of that workunit.
And no, I don't really plan to add an automatic tally... [at least atm :)]
