Both of my high core count servers are only getting enough work units to run. I can't build up any kind of cache. So when one completes the CPU core sits idle while it waits to download another one.

Is this intentional or is there a bad configuration on my end?

I _think_ that's intentional (to avoid normal core-count hosts downloading unnecessary amounts that they probably wouldn't finish in time).
IIRC, a long time ago I set the limit to 1500 wu's.
Cool that you've now got hosts pushing that limit! :)
