The previous thread looked at a cure for the carbon dioxide problem - here is an attempt at prevention:
Firstly nuclear fission is horrendous, generating loads of permanently radioactive waste, Plutonium239, which is of no use to anyone unless they want to build a bomb, and clearly nasty to leave to our children to deal with, which is supposed to be the whole point of being “green” anyway.
Nuclear fusion has one known problem, namely no one has got it work yet, at least in any useful/predicted way - also, speaking with my speculative hat on, is it just coincidence that Southern Europe/ China have been hit with heatwaves and droughts just as their fusion experiments generating millions of degrees C are beginning to come online???
But [credit Elon Musk] we don’t need that anyway - it is becoming clear that PV solar and Wind will do all we need, it’s just a case of massively ramping these up. (Congrats to USA and others for recent incentives).
So 1) generate loads of clean, green electricity from solar and wind.
2) make loads of green hydrogen from some of above electricity via electrolysis (China may be ahead of us here atm) and use this for aviation fuel/ steel smelting etc.
3) make enough green methane (natural gas) from some of above hydrogen (and some of the above electricity) to keep the central heating of Europe going while everyone transitions to electrical heating/ deals with Putin. The natural gas made in this way will be genuinely carbon-neutral.

…and it looks like the best solutions for storing all this lovely green electricity are lithium battery, rust battery and pumped hydro.
