Thank you very much.

One question, I noticed the main file is titled "Wep108.cpp" and notice we are running version 1.13 (64b).

Are all the files up to date to recompile and generate an exact copy of your code?

Thanks!

Many BOINC projects make their source code available and many times much to the projects benefit. Faster SSE2, AVX, and other speedups have been done, tested, and approved for use by these other projects.

Is the source code available for this project?

Has any attempt been made to speed things up with an SSE2 or other optimization?

Thanks!

4) Message boards : Number crunching : WU's error out when resumed from suspend or system restarted (Message 198)

Like the title says, if you suspend the tasks and then restart them, they all fail. One may need to do this from time to time for updates or adjustments to BIOS etc...

Even if you don't stop the system and keep the programs in memory, a resume causes them to fail.

Update:

Well, a friend of mine told me the benchmarks for Darwin, Windoz, Linux are all different and not to rely on them.

Sooo, I would presume the system in question is highly overclocked and not showing that... or there is a bug or something somewhere.

Same WU, one system runs Linux Mint 16 and the other runs (I think an Apple OS) Darwin 13.1.0.

This is the WU's done:

http://bearnol.is-a-geek.com/wanless2/workunit.php?wuid=5599952

System #1 specs: (1878 seconds to complete)
http://bearnol.is-a-geek.com/wanless2/show_host_detail.php?hostid=25047

System #2 specs: (1982 seconds to complete)
http://bearnol.is-a-geek.com/wanless2/show_host_detail.php?hostid=15487

Notice system #1 is almost twice as fast on floats and about 5 times faster on integers.

It's hard for me to believe the slower system is only about 100 seconds slower... and it's really hard to believe the OS has that much to do with things.

IS the 64b Darwin app compilation V-1.12 so much better than the 64b Linux V-1.13 compilation? Hard to believe...

I just tried that... I suppose it is a value the server would need to see because it still sent some 1.09 tasks to my 64b machines... Sooo, I suppose it takes a while for the server to figure it out... I'll let it run more and see..

Well, restarting BOINC cured the problem... Seems simply reading the cc_config doesn't do it... so that is a temporary fix... but it does prevent other projects from sending tasks...

I don't know whether the following page would be helpful:
http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Client_configuration
?
I'm thinking specifically of the <no_alt_platform> tag.

Sigh...

It's my dollar to spend on hardware and electricity; like others, I like to run the most efficient tasks possible.

I have the same problem and I am NOT going to do app_info's on 11 systems... besides, only 9 running wep at the moment...

LOL!
